The Patron Saint of Writers and Journalist is Francis de Sales, a bishop of Geneva who died in 1622. He is best known for writing Introduction to the Devout Life which was a book written for the laypeople. This was highly unusual in his time. Today, it is touted as the first Catholic “self-help” book. His Feast Day is January 24th although some traditions celebrate it on January 23rd or January 29th. For more information, Wikipedia – surprisingly – has a very depth entry on Francis de Sales.
